محکم جمہوریت کےلئے عورتوں کی بااختیاری اور اُن کی قیادت
In March 2014, organised by Women Living Under Muslim Laws, WELDD convened a workshop in Banjul, the Gambia to address women's public and political participation in Anglophone African countries. Under the umbrella aim of building transformation and transnational leadership, the workshop brought women from across Africa together share their experiences and their strategies for advancing women's rights in their contexts. Topics on the agenda included the rise of political Islam; culturally-justified violence against women; and women’s participation in law and constitution building. As well as covering effective strategies for mobilising and movement-building, the workshop introduced the importance of self-care and wellbeing to the sustainability of women's activism.
