The high rate of violence against women in Gisting sub-district, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung, has motivated Mrs. Harni to open up a women's rights organisation named FAKTA, founded in 2001.
Cases of violence against women are often solved by making a monetary “deal” between the victim and the perpetrator. Mrs. Harni has been fighting to ensure that these cases do not slip the law, and that women are aware of their constitutional rights and the legal actions they can take.
"Unacceptable Peace" features her interviews, her place of work, and the women involved in ensuring empowerment in the area.
