TODAY: WLUML participates in the annual 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence [1]campaign via a Twitter teach-in!
Our topic: Can we overcome (or resist) culturally-justfied discrimination against women as a major barrier to education for women and girls?
We have a steady stream of tweets [2]going up, publicising our most relevant resources and stories, and we urge everyone to share, retweet, particpate, ask questions, take part!
As a contribution to the campaign, we redirect you to one of the more relevant resources aailable from our projects: The Nexus of Peace and Security [3]by Edna Aquino, which explains how peace, security and militarism are enmeshed with culturally-justified violence and dsicrimination against women, which includes gender based violence as well as activism.
